Inspired by Kenzaburo Oe's idea of self-study of some poets and philosophers. (His Paris Review Interview). He embarks on a 5-year and 3-year immersion in a writer and a theme.
Modifying it to a monthly rhythm. If nothing, here is the first month long study intent of Eliot.
Beginning with Four Quartets, a poem to revisit often. Some personal notes, mostly a rewriting/copying of the poems as an attempt to study them slowly, some of their philosophy. The appeal is discipline.
Putting this up with timid hopes (given my past experience of launching blogs often), but since the appeal here is discipline, lets take it up for one month.
After Eliot (July), perhaps it will be Cummings.
Yet to think of a theme, but perhaps if it is Four Quartets, it is the philosophy of life and existence itself. Which covers all philosophy I think.
As to discipline, something I do everyday, read a passage or two, copy it. Or read quietly without copying and see where it takes us.
